“Sometimes You Make Choices in Life and Sometimes Choices Make You”
This quote has resonated with me so much lately. I didn’t understand it at first, but now I do.
Everyone makes choices in life one way or another. So it’s impossible to believe that only your own choices impact your life. We encounter so many more people in life that make choices that will inherently impact us in some way. All for the better.
For example, one of my best friends growing up was obsessed with the the Mariah Carey album Charmbracelet and because of the that I’m listening to that same album as I type. But, I wouldn’t be listening to that album right now if she hadn’t chosen to buy that CD and if she hadn’t chosen to share it with me. That choice made me in a way. Not in a bad way, but it formed a memory that will always be a part of me.
Choices inherently impact our lives whether they’re ours or someone else’s. But, to the point, I feel like I’m in a phase in my life when I’m understanding the meaning of this quote even more. Honestly I think that our life is approximately 10% our choice and 90% choices making us.
Often times choices take us faster than falling in love. Ironically falling in love is a choice that makes (takes) us. Some times you have to let things happen and have a little faith. That our lives are going in the right direction. Whether or not we make the choices or the choices make us.
You’ve got to have a little faith.
